JED is - like the whole Joomla project - is run by a fistful of volunteers. And not kidding, you can count on one hand the active volunteers handling the live JED 3 and on the other hand the developers, who are working in developing the upcoming JED 4.
You want a change? You can join the team, we have lot of open seats. Things are not happening just because "This is important issue for Joomla community". SOMEONE needs to do the heavy lifting too.
